Casa Batlló
Barcelona
Descripción Datos de contacto

The Casa (house) Batlló is one of the best-known works of Antoni Gaudí. It is the result of the radical reform and modernization of a commercial and residential building between party walls, typical of the Eixample district, in which Gaudí unfolded all his genius. The architect responded ironically to the academic forms of the neighbouring Amatller house with the elevation of this undulating monument of multicoloured beauty. This structure laden with symbolism represents the advent of a new century and the metaphorical defeat of the previous century's academicist neoclassical style at the hands of a revolutionary artistic trend.
