Santa Margalida
Mallorca

Santa Margalida is a large municipality which extends outwards from the interior to the enormous bay of Alcúdia with long sandy beaches.

The population is concentrated above all in the village of the same name and the coastal towns of Can Picafort and Son Serra de Marina. The area has been inhabited since prehistoric times, a fact confirmed by sites like the Son Real necropolis. This funerary enclosure is unique on Mallorca, and has been battered by the waves for centuries. You can visit it after a pleasant walk along the coast from the beach of Son Bauló, or along one of the signposted trails designed for walkers or cyclists which cross the magnificent Public Estate of Son Real.

Another big attraction in Santa Margalida is without doubt its beaches of fine sand and transparent waters. Stretches of sand link up to one another, all of them affording spectacular views of the bay of Alcúdia and the headlands that delimit it —Cap de Menorca to the west, and Cap de Ferrutx to the east.

Holidays in Can Picafort
Can Picafort is a pioneer tourist resort of northern Mallorca, blessed with modern infrastructures and a full range of services for spending an excellent holiday by the sea. A good destination with easy access to the charms of the north of the island. In Can Picafort busy beaches with a summery atmosphere alternate with solitary nooks and crannies. The good communications, ready availability of services and close contact with the sea have favoured its growth as a residential town, with a stable population all year round that multiplies in summer.
