Enjoy fabulous beaches, explore exciting cities or discover remote destinations like the Maldives with RIU,
a luxury hotel chain featuring 95 establishments marked by their comfort, convenience and caring service.

Founded in Mallorca in 1953 as a little family holiday business, today the third RIU generation runs 95 prestige hotels in 20 countries, employing some 30,000 people and welcoming over 4.5 million guests each year. In line with its international expansion,  in 2019 RIU has opened two new resorts in the Maldive Islands and now, together with its partner Nakheel, in Dubai it is set to open the region’s first all-inclusive 24h resort.

The hotels of the RIU chain stand out for the quality of their facilities, their convenient location in the best destinations, their outstanding cuisine, their caring personalized service, their attention to detail, and their impeccable professionalism. In fact, most of the establishments offer all-inclusive service, so guests can relax and enjoy their time to the maximum on a stay including all food and beverages, entertainment programmes, and the use of facilities like gyms and saunas.

The RIU chain features a range of hotels for all tastes and needs. Its beach hotels include those of the RIU Palace line, which are elegant and sophisticated and offer an exquisite cuisine, making them ideal for romantic getaways or honeymoons. Some of its establishments are run under the Adults Only concept, for couples who wish to enjoy a stay with maximum comfort and relaxation.

The RIU Plaza line comprises strategically located urban hotels in major cities like  Berlin, Dublin, Miami, Guadalajara, Panama City and New York. These are modern functional establishments with services and amenities ensuring business and holiday travellers of all comforts and conveniences. The RIU Plaza España, the first hotel of this category in Spain, recently opened its doors. In this way RIU is consolidating its urban commitment, offering ideal accommodation for people wishing to discover the best of each city.

Amenities, services and activities for all
To ensure the best possible stay, RIU proposes a broad range of services, amenities and activities. The hotels with the Fun4All label offer all-inclusive service and have an activity leadership team and fun, entertainment and activities for all ages. Children like accommodation with RIULand, a modern monitored programme featuring outdoor activities, physical and group games, handicrafts, and board games.

To keep in shape or to get started with fitness, RIUFit is an all-around programme of  classes in aquatic exercises, relaxation and stretching every day of the week, in the morning and the afternoon. RIUArt makes it easy for guests (young people from age 12 and adults) to learn, under the guidance of experts, the best artistic techniques for combining colours, shapes and materials, with workshops on different levels. RIU Pool Party, for its part, organizes theme parties with a team of monitors, atmosphere lighting, and good music provided by top-notch DJs.

RIU strives each day to make its hotels more responsible with the communities where they stand. Mindful of the direct impact of its activity on the surroundings, RIU seeks to minimize it by carrying out awareness actions addressed to its staff, guests and suppliers, on saving water and energy, waste management, wildlife protection, and reduction of CO2 emissions.

New resorts in the Maldives
RIU has just opened two new resorts in the Maldives’ Dhaalu reef, with magnificent suites overlooking the Indian Ocean. These are the first Spanish establishments in this idyllic archipelago. One is the 4-star hotel Riu Atoll, located on the island of Maafushi, and the other is the 5-star hotel RIU Palace Maldivas, on the island of Kedhigandu. These hotels stand on two different islands joined by a footbridge of 800 metres in length, flanked by 72 suites built over the water. Their interior design is based on wood and glass, with numerous open spaces to allow the unique sunrises and sunsets of this fabulous setting to be enjoyed.

Delectable cuisine
Culinary excellence is a fundamental aspect of RIU, which features restaurants offering a wide variety of delicious top-quality foods, beverages and dishes. In addition to the splendid buffet, guests can enjoy theme restaurants serving the best Italian, Mexican, Steakhouse, Asian, Indian or Japanese cooking. Guests of the RIU Palace will enjoy the gourmet experience at Krystal, which combines avant-garde and fusion cuisine. Kulinarium, for its part, fuses Modern and Caribbean cuisine, using special local ingredients and innovative techniques. The restaurant Olé has a very appetizing menu of dishes marked by a contemporary interpretation of southern Spanish specialities.
