Barcelona is a world documentary capital and the new edition of the International Documentary Film Festival will be held from 20th to 30th May 2020. The best of all Spanish and international documentaries are shown at DocsBarcelona and in many cases this is the only place where the general public can see them.
With twenty editions behind it, DocsBarcelona is a festival specialized in the documentary genre that is composed of three competitive Official sections: Panorama, Latitude and What The Doc!, as well as several sections out of competition and master classes. All the films that make up the different sections are selected by an international programming committee.
The festival also holds talks with directors and protagonists after the screenings so the interested public can learn more about the ideas behind their films. Likewise, there will be celebration areas in conjunction with the opening and closing ceremonies of DocsBarcelona, providing a meeting point for the public and the festival’s guest participants in this way.
