Fàbrica Filats Casarramona
Barcelona
Descripción Datos de contacto

The Casarramona Yarn Factory, designed in 1909, is one of the foremost works of the architect Josep Puig i Cadafalch. At the Casarramona Factory, Puig i Cadafalch used brick as a fundamental material to create an ensemble of great beauty and unique coherence of forms and constructive elements. Following the Spanish Civil War, the factory became the headquarters of the Armed Police Corps, and it has now been rehabilitated by La Caixa Foundation, which has turned it into a large exhibition hall displaying a permanent collection of contemporary art. The great Japanese architect Arata Isozaki took part in the reform, designing the large glass and steel structure that acts as the main entrance.
