Richard Meier designed the Museu d'Art Contemporani de Barcelona (MACBA). This celebrated U.S. architect conceived a building in which the colour white and straight and curved lines predominate, that is to say, a perfect example of Mediterranean rationalist architecture. These characteristics, which mark the exterior appearance of MACBA, stand in sharp contrast to the vintage buildings around it, in the picturesque and centrally located Raval Quarter.
