The Theatre Auditorium of the town of San Lorenzo de El Escorial –situated just 60 km from the city of Madrid– is a modern building of 26,000 m2 that was inaugurated in 2006. In an emblematic natural setting with beautiful views of Mount Abantos, it stands near the Royal Monastery of El Escorial and is one of the best places to enjoy theatre, opera, dance, festivals and all types of cultural and business events. Designed by the acclaimed architectural practice of Rubén Picado, this newly built edifice of the Region of Madrid shelters a large theatre, a camera room, a rehearsal hall, vestibules, halls for parallel activities, cafés and terraces. All these spaces are fully equipped for the holding of top-level events. The Theatre Auditorium features guided tours that let visitors get up a close-up look at the facilities where shows are produced.
