Madrid
Descripción Datos de contacto

The Royal Colosseum of Charles III is the oldest of all the existing covered theatres in Spain and the only Court theatre that remains in use here. Commissioned by Charles III and designed by the French architect Jacques Marquet, it was inaugurated in 1771. It is based on the models of the French and Neapolitan Baroque theatres of the last half of the 18th century. At present the Royal Colosseum of Charles III organizes an annual programme in which antique music, dance, theatre and children’s productions form a very attractive offering for everyone who wishes to enjoy stage performances in a unique auditorium in which history and artistic creation combine for a truly memorable experience.
